A TRIP to Woolgoolga failed to slow down the Magpies in Round 7 of the AFL North Coast senior season, with two strong wins to close out the Indigenous Round.
The Port Macquarie senior women (31) defeated the Northern Beaches Blues (26) at Wiigulga Sports Complex on Saturday.
Their performance was described as tough and composed, with the club sharing that they “absorbed pressure late and finished the job with real grit”.
A dominant fourth quarter from the senior men also saw the Port Magpies (125) defeat the Northern Beaches Blues (23).
The cream has also risen to the top after the first five rounds of the AFL North Coast junior season.
The Port Macquarie Magpies remain undefeated to lead the way in the Youth Girls 17s competition.
The Sawtell/Toormina Saints also remain undefeated at the top of the Under 16s Boys ladder.
The Northern Beaches Blues Youth Girls 15s have also made an undefeated start to the season.
The Port Macquarie Swoopers and Lower Clarence Suns both remain undefeated at the top of the Under 14s Mixed competition.
The Northern Beaches Blues lead the way in the Youth Girls 13s, with an undefeated start to their premiership defence.
Sawtell/Toormina Saints (Black) remain undefeated in the Under 12s Mixed competition.
The AFL North Coast junior season is played on Sundays.
