LONG Flat Pub has been bought in an off-market sale, according to industry publication The Hotel Conversation, marking a homecoming for the venue’s new owners.
The pub was reportedly sold by JLL Hotels and Hospitality Group on behalf of Flower Hotels, led by Port Macquarie hotelier Alistair Flower.
Flower Hotels acquired the pub in 2021 and oversaw a period of improved trade while maintaining a strong focus on community engagement.
According to the report, the successful purchasers are brothers Stephen and Scott McMillan, who have deep family ties to the venue.
Their grandmother was the publican during the 1920s and 1930s, making the purchase a return to their roots.
Both brothers grew up in the Hastings region before forging successful careers.
Stephen is Managing Director of Citta Property Group, while Scott recently retired from ASX-listed Alliance Airways, which he founded.
The pub recently won Best Marketing Activity at the NSW AHA Awards.
News Of The Area has contacted Flower Hotels and the new owners for comment.
