PORT Macquarie Branch of the Country Women’s Association (CWA) spent a busy day on duty on Town Square ahead of the ArtWalk 2026 opening.
The day began with the regular tearoom service, which is held every first and third Friday morning.
There were plenty of locals and visitors keen to have a cuppa and scones and chat with CWA members.
From midday the rooms were handed over to Port Macquarie Hastings Council and its ArtWalk team.
CWA members relocated to Town Square to set up their market stall.
Members were kept busy with sales of homemade craft, jams, pickles, and baked goods.
“We have had a great night connecting with members of the community,” said Port Macquarie CWA President Jill Adams.
”The CWA has a reputation for our hospitality, and for our craft and baking skills, which enables us to do the work that is important.
“The CWA is about more than tea and scones and our advocacy work has been the backbone of the organisation across the state for over 100 years.
“We raise money from events like this to support those in need locally and we are always keen to have a presence so that we can chat with the community about what we do.”
