PORT Macquarie Hastings Council has issued a safety update for Town Beach and the Coastal Walk.

Large swells over recent days have caused erosion that has destabilised the dunes and embankments.

Following inspections, PMHC teams have identified movement and slippage near the Town Beach seawall and surrounding coastal areas.

To help keep the community safe, some access points to Town Beach have been temporarily closed while assessments continue.

Council has appealed for the community’s patience and cooperation during this time and asks that the public respect the signage and barriers in place.

Teams will continue to monitor conditions closely and provide updates as more information becomes available.

If anything needs urgent attention, report it via Council’s website pmhc.nsw.gov.au/Report-an-issue or call 02 6581 8111 for emergencies.
