IN my last letter I warned of unfounded, flawed claims being used by those opposed to One Nation to try to stop their surging popularity in Australia.
Bill Robinson’s letter (‘Compassion and vision are essential’, NOTA, 31/7/26) is a prime example.
It is an irrefutable fact that the recent OECD Employment Outlook Report found that persistent high inflation and trailing wage growth resulted in a 5.1 per cent decline in Australian’s real wages since March 2021.
In stark contrast, workers across the average OECD member country experienced an approximate 5 per cent increase in living standards over the same timeframe. This has nothing to do with our global ranking.
The resulting struggle for all, except the wealthy, to pay their weekly bills is a major reason (but not the only reason) why One Nation is now leading many polls despite a widespread media/political campaign against them.
It was then incorrectly claimed that Pauline has been ‘unable to articulate any Labor government waste and useless spending’.
The reality is that One Nation has a comprehensive plan to save around $90Billion by dismantling multiple departments, overhauling major public programs, and exiting international bodies, while redirecting funds toward debt reduction, taxpayer relief, and infrastructure.
Abolishing the Department of Climate Change and its related agencies, green subsidies, and net-zero programs is projected by the Party to save approximately $30Billion every year while also reducing the upward pressure on our electricity bills, which are up 22 per cent in the last year, according to the latest ABS inflation data.
Finally, it is indeed true that you ‘can’t fool all of the people all of the time’.
That is exactly why more and more Australians are abandoning the political Parties that have implemented policies which have made life so much harder for so many, and are now looking to a Party run by people who will put them and their interests first and not last.
