Two face court after alleged aggravated break and enter at Thrumster

TWO men have faced court after an alleged aggravated break and enter last week.

About 12.25am on Tuesday 3 March 2026, emergency services were called to Campus Street, Thrumster, following reports of an aggravated break and enter.

Officers from Mid North Coast Police District attended and were told an unknown man allegedly entered the home and stole the keys to a vehicle parked in the driveway.

The occupant, a 47-year-old woman, attempted to intervene before she was pushed to the ground by a second man – allegedly armed with a machete.

Both men then left the scene in her vehicle.

The woman sustained minor injuries.

About 1am, the vehicle was located unattended on Gordon Street, where it was seized.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the incident commenced.

About 7am on Friday 6 March 2026, police attached to Mid North Coast and Manning Great Lakes Police Districts executed three search warrants at homes in Wingham, Taree and Port Macquarie.

Police arrested 29-year-old Pierce Towney at the Taree address and 32-year-old Adrian Slater at the Wingham address.

They were both taken to Taree Police station and charged with multiple offences.

Appearing before Bail Division Court 1 on Friday 6 March, neither man applied for bail and both will reappear in the local crime court at Port Macquarie on 30 April.
