Despite the physical challenges that come with age, Mr Boyle remains comfortable with modern technology.

He regularly uses technology to stay in touch with family, friends and the wider world.

Michele Nocelli, a close friend, has helped to write his memoirs and describes Mr Boyle as an “honourable man and deserving of accolade”.

“He is a well respected war veteran and a beautiful soul.”

Adding to the significance of his birthday celebration, Mr Boyle’s memoirs are set to be printed, following months of work capturing memories that stretch back more than a century.

The memoir reflects not only major historical events, but also everyday moments that shaped his life and character.

He moved into Highfields Manor in August this year after living independently well into his second century.

Until the age of 101, Mr Boyle was still driving himself around town, a fact that continues to amaze friends and carers alike.

A respected war veteran, Mr Boyle has been a prominent figure in local Anzac Day commemorations.

He has proudly led the Anzac march for the past 25 years, carrying forward the memory of those who served with dignity and consistency.

Family members said the birthday gathering was especially meaningful, acknowledging that opportunities like this are rare.

At 102, Alfred Roy Boyle remains a symbol of endurance and quiet leadership.
