DEAR News Of The Area,
On Saturday 20 June at 5pm the Port City Bowls Club will host a large number of former Port Macquarie High students for a school reunion.
A number of students are travelling large distances – such as from Port Douglas and Adelaide – to be reunited with their former classmates.
Many haven’t seen each other for more than 57 years.
The atmosphere will be dynamic as all these Boomers share past stories, laugh, and remember those who are no longer with us.
As the initiator of the reunion I was ably assisted by Gaz White, Judi Turnham and Graeham Kennedy.
The process of tracking down ex-students wasn’t easy.
A number of ex-students still live in Port Macquarie but others have vanished into thin air.
It’s been like a group of detectives sourcing out leads.
Thanks to the many hours put into the search, the results have been pleasing.
Gaz, Graeham and I were well-suited to finding past students as we have all been involved in search missions through our voluntary work in the SES and Search & Rescue.
Regards,
Tom Tyndall,
Craiglie.
