POLICE are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in Port Macquarie on Wednesday 12 November.
About 10.20pm, emergency services were called to the corner of Buller and Hollingsworth streets in Port Macquarie, following reports of an assault.
They were told a man was walking along Buller Street when he became involved in an argument with a group of men in a passing car, who then began to throw objects at him.
The man kicked the vehicle, before the group exited the car and allegedly assaulted him, knocking him to the ground.
The men then left the scene in a vehicle described as a silver Mazda, as a member of the public called emergency services.
The 45-year-old man was treated at the scene for head and facial injuries before being taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital.
A crime scene was established as officers attached to Mid North Coast Police District commenced inquiries.
Police now wish to speak to three men described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, who were last seen in the area in the silver Mazda.
