TOURISM operators across the Mid North Coast are encouraged to put themselves forward for one of the industry’s highest honours, with nominations now open for the 2025 NSW Tourism Awards.
This year marks a new era for the awards program, which has undergone a national review to streamline the entry process.
With new categories, simplified questions, and a reduced word count, the changes aim to make the awards more accessible, while still maintaining its prestige and rigour.
The Port Macquarie-Hastings Local Government Area (LGA) tourism output is estimated at more than $539 million, which is 4.1 percent of total economic output, according to a publicly available Remplan report.
The largest sub-sector in the Port Macquarie-Hastings LGA is Accommodation and Food Services with tourist expenditure around $248 million.
Whether a hidden gem or a well-established business, the 2025 NSW Tourism Awards offer a platform to be recognised for delivering world-class visitor experiences.
Ron Beeldman, Awards Chair, said they “provide an excellent opportunity to benchmark your business and highlight your achievements of excellence in all aspects of your operations.
“The Awards offer you an opportunity to reflect on your business, with questions designed to highlight your strategies, accomplishments, and lessons you’ve learned along the way.”
Nominations close on 13 June, with final submissions due by 20 August.
Winners of the Awards will be announced at a Gala Ceremony held later in the year.
The Gold winners in categories 1–26 will advance to the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards, where they will compete against top finalists from each State and Territory.
This is an opportunity for local businesses to celebrate achievements, inspire teams, and shine on the national stage.
