AN incredible array of characters were spotted at Sovereign Place recently when around 2500 people attended a free family Halloween disco and dress-up.
Organiser Tim Walker, the Ritchies IGA Community Development Manager, said that many attendees were aged between five and seven years, but costumed revellers spanned the ages – from babes in arms to the Port Base Hospital pink ladies’ Fairy Godmother judging team.
Face painting proved a huge hit, with Mr Walker saying he would ensure he enlisted two face-painters for next year’s event.
The Witchy Nook also brought an element of charm to the evening and was extremely popular.
“The Players Theatre and the Port Macquarie Performing Arts were two stand-outs,” Mr Walker said.
“Incredible street theatre skills from the Players and an amazing flash-mob dance routine from Port Performing Arts to ‘Thriller’.”
Mr Walker also sent a “huge shout out” to the Port Base Hospital pink ladies for their judging, which he said was a very difficult job.
“We will certainly do it again,” Mr Walker said. “The partnership with Sovereign Hills Management makes these events so successful. Bring on 2027!”
