Lutheran church celebrates 40 years in Port Macquarie

SEVERAL founding members of Port Macquarie’s St Peter’s Lutheran Church were on hand to celebrate the church’s 40th anniversary recently.

They included Brenda Worthing, Joan Rayward, and Ian and Dot Marshall, accompanied by their daughter Karen.

The special anniversary service was officiated by Bishop Richard Schwedes, accompanied by Pastors Mark Worthing, David Thompson, and Brian Schwarz.

Following the service, the congregation enjoyed a morning tea, reminisced and shared four decades of memories.

A collection of photographs was displayed on screen and in memory books. They provided a visual journey through the history of St Peter’s, and showed the many people and occasions that have been part of its story.

The anniversary celebration allowed the congregation to reflect on 40 years of faith, fellowship and community, while looking forward to the years ahead.
